In v10, the angel speaks to her in the first person "I will so increase your descendants...", and then in verse 13 she gave a name to the Lord who spoke to her. To me it's fascinating that she recognizes the angel as her Lord, and then gives the Lord a name. Any thoughts on this?

KimAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5339493307883061160.post-20218641262114177742008-06-23T08:27:00.000-07:002008-06-23T08:27:00.000-07:00Good one I needed that. But he didn't and I know that his ways are higher than our ways. I take comfort in that and the fact that I CAN'T know what he's up to. And it took me a long time to realize it's stupid to try to make things happen, like Sarai. Taking things into your own hands can leave you broken on the floor, crying out for help. I'm glad I finally realized that...LeLehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03789410692486191482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5339493307883061160.post-16982737674404555262008-06-23T07:00:00.000-07:002008-06-23T07:00:00.000-07:00I am going to have to stop reading this blog at wo...I am going to have to stop reading this blog at work. I think you may have meant verse 13, not chapter. Not a big deal, just letting you know.

What stuck out to me in this chapter was the end of verse 2. It simply says, "Abram agreed to what Sarai said." It reminds me of the garden and Eve giving Adam the apple. Both men were faced with a choice to either obey what God had promised or to continue the God/I relationship (I really like that title by the way.)Dustinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08231240588637618758noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5339493307883061160.post-48720077676375472272008-06-23T06:01:00.000-07:002008-06-23T06:01:00.000-07:00This post goes along well with what I read today i...This post goes along well with what I read today in Rick Warren's "Purpose Driven Life." Chapter 8 talks about feeling insignificant and how God chose to create each and every one of us. It's hard to remember that He is with us on our dark days.
