A simple prayer for a simple day.

I am not good at praying. Most of the times, when I open my heart and my mouth, only the simple things fall out. "Help," or "I can't do this without you" or "Lord Jesus have mercy on me."

But last night I heard a song that had a poetic prayer accidentally hidden inside it. I say accidentally because it's a secular song about a girl. But like Ken Boa, I believe that every good story ultimately points back to the greatest story of all, Christ.

Here is what this musician said:

"Pull me down hard, drown me in love."

That's it, nothing fancy. Just a simple request. And that is what I will be praying today.

i like that song. also, sometimes when i sing secular songs, i think about God, and sometimes when i sing songs that are supposed to be to God, i end up thinking about someone else.
but if the thought/prayer is sincere, give it to God, why not?

It is amazing to hear the world through a different set of ears at times, isn't it? Music is one thing that has always been important to us here in our ministry, and we are thrilled to see the impact we are having on people's lives.

Jon,
What an authentic post. Thank you. The first sentence brought me to tears because I identified. That is me.
