Casual.

We might take the Bible casually, but you know who doesn’t? satan.

He knows God’s word inside and out and loves nothing more than to use it as a tool of condemnation and attack. That’s why he’s the father of lies. He tries to wound us with our own weapons. Even Christ experienced that in the desert when satan quoted the Bible as a temptation in Matthew 4:5-6.

What does that mean? We shouldn’t take the Bible casually. We shouldn’t assume that the verses pressed upon our hearts are always going to be gifts. satan will use anything against us, even the Bible.

(And yes, I lowercased the s on purpose.)

satan's kind of lies are more like that of a counterfeiter. (That's a double middle finger if you lowercase him at the beginning of a sentence.) He doesn't start with blatant lies like "you should go kill somebody, or start a new addiction with meth." It's always an almost imperceptible version of the truth. So, for those of us who use the Bible as our manual, that's the perfect place for him to find his fodder for the best lies.

You know, it would be even more of a middle finger of grammer if you misspelled his name. I have heard so much about the evils of "satin" that i have begun to wonder if the misspelling was on purpose, or if perhaps i was getting it wrong and the ultra-smooth material was an evil to be avoided in it's own right.

This really confuses me because I've asked God for understanding of a certain situation in my life and I've opened my Bible to read something that seems a perfect answer to the question I asked. I believe them to be from God and I even pray that he would let me know if they aren't from Him. All I know is the verses I read gave me such peace and hope.

I don't think the word is casual, I think it is apathy. Due to recent circumstances, there has been a thot in my head, "Apathy leaves when persecution begins."

Very true, indeed.

Jesus said to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, MIND, and strength." I think, often, many Christians...and many churches...leave out the knowledge of the scriptures. That leaves people open to attack because then "satin" can confuse us when he gives us 99% truth and 1% lie...just enough to stray off the narrow path.

Crazy!
